North Korea is warning ships to stay out of waters off its eastern port of Wonsan for three weeks from Wednesday, the Japan Coast Guard said, raising concerns Pyongyang is planning more missile tests. The government has set three major tasks to cope with a possible second wave of the new influenza strain: Beef up the flu-surveillance system; develop a vaccine against the flu; and develop a new test kit to check more accurately for infection. It is feared there could be a resurgence of the new flu in or after autumn. (Yomiuri)

Military officers may gain power

Author and pop culture columnist Maki Fukasawa coined the term in 2006 in a series of articles on marketing to a younger generation of Japanese men.
